I like that take from Emily Oster - and it ties into my approach on climate friendly behaviours. Focus on the ones that are most important and let the rest slide

I just finished Lessons in Chemistry, and I'm on book 6 of the Deborah Crombie Kincaid/James police procedural series. I'm also making slow progress through a lengthy biography of Queen Elizabeth II.

Family life is busy with all the end of school activities: it feels like running a 10k at a sprint in these last 7 weeks of school.

I loved Lessons in Chemistry. I just finished Sittenfield's Romantic Comedy and LOVED IT!

I was listening to the Girl Next Door podcast and they were talking about May Madness.

Our schools don't finish until the last week of June so things haven't quite ramped up here. But there's a P1 disco at the end of May, and sports day (I'm not British, I have no idea what either of these things entail), and a bunch of birthday parties. Kiddo has outgrown some of his uniform bottoms and polos, so I've replaced those, but now he's complaining about his PE shoes. His uniform isn't strictly enforced at all, and if he grows out of his black school shoes, I'm just going to send him in sneakers for the rest of the year.
